Add Carles Puyol to the list of Legends to retire at the end of this campaign.

According to Catalunya radio, Carles Puyol will hang up his boots at the end of the season. Puyol, who originally was rumored with moves to the MLS at the end of the season, has informed the local radio that he will forgo any offers and retire.

“Tarzan” as he is affectionately called by close friends has won everything their is to win in both international and club football. He was the backbone and heart of FC Barcelona for many years and is unreplaceable according to his teammates. As a Barcelona fan myself, this day will be a sad one but every players time comes.

Club Level Accomplishments include 6 La Liga Titles and 3 UEFA Champions League Trophies.

International Level Accomplishments include the 2008 and 2012 Euro Cups and the 2010 FIFA World Cup where he so famously headed in the winner in the Semi-Finals against Germany.

A special presentation will be held for him next Thursday for all his accomplishments to the club.
