The Champions League is back and we have a few mouth watering fixtures already. Injury plagued Arsenal go to Germany to kick off their campaign with a familiar foe.
Arsene Wenger will have to reach deep into his squad to replace the injuries of Chambers, Debuchy and Monreal. The gunners come into the match taking a point from their clash at the Emirates with Manchester City and will hope to build on that match early on in the season. Dortmund come in better form after their flat Bundesliga debut where they lost 0-2. The two teams are considered slight favorites to advance although with trips looming to Turkey against Galatasaray, this group will come down to the final match day.
WorldFootie Prediction: Arsenal 2 – BvB 2
In spain defending champions Real Madrid will try to become the first team to repeat as champions in the Champions League era. Defensive woes have caused chaos and have sent the Casa Blanca faithful into a frenzy. Early losses to Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid have them 6 points off leaders FC Barcelona. This will be a different animal though and while the Swiss side might put a few through Iker Casillas, the stacked Madrid midfield and forwards will have the green light on Tuesday night.
WorldFootie Prediction: Real Madrid 3 – Basel 1
Anfield will have their first Champions League night in 6 years against cinderella story Ludogorets. It’ll take defender Moti more than becoming the goalkeeper to get a result out of Liverpool. Personally i’m excited to see how Balotelli will step up to the plate with injured Sturridge on the sidelines. The key to the reds success though might fall on the feet of young star Raheem Stirling. When he gets into a rhythm their is few teams that can contain his attacking prowess and penetration of backlines.
WorldFootie Prediction: Liverpool 3 – Ludogorets 0.
Here are the full matches that will be played on Tuesday.
