Orlando won their first ever MLS game(and road game) on Friday night thanks to an error from Dynamo Keeper Tyler Deric.
Pedro Ribeiro applied pressure late in the game that forced an unusual moment of error for an other wise brilliant Deric. The Dynamo keeper had a brilliant opening game last week to open up the Dynamo’s season with a win and had a ridiculous save earlier in this weeks game against Kaka before the blunder late in the game.
Orlando now has 4 points and is in the upper part of the table after two matches. The flow and quick one touch passing in the midfield and with link up play with Brek Shea and Kaka were truly great to watch. It helped open up passing lanes and really allow City to absorb pressure and create openings. This team continues to grow on the city and with play like this it’ll only get better. Orlando also had a much better defensive game. The back line moved well whenever the Dynamo Forwards would get into their area and the sense of awareness from Heath’s men minimized the number of chance encounters that Rickett saw.
I personally watched at Wall St. Plaza in downtown Orlando with their official supporters group the “Ruckus”. I’ve been watching footie a long time in Orlando and I’ve only seen crowds that rowdy and loud during the last World Cup and a few Champions League matches. I would highly recommend watching all the away matches there. Between the chants, the “ole’s” with Orlando City’s Tiki Taka passing and the moment that everyone went mental during the goal, I felt like I was at the stands.
City now welcome Vancouver this weekend to Orlando on Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
