Russia Announces 30 Man Roster for World Cup 2014 in Brazil

The Russia national association have until June 2nd to cut their original 30-man squad down to a final group of 23 players, which must include a total of three goalkeepers.  Their Italian coach Fabio Capello has announced the mandatory 30-man squad for the upcoming World Cup 2014 tournament in Brazil.  

Coach Capello has decided to not include Lokomotiv players Roman Pavlyuchenko and Dmitry Tarasov this time around.  Instead, he added a new member to the group, Pavel Pogrebnyak who plays for Reading of the England’s Championship league.  Pogrebnyak is the only player of the squad to play outside of Russia.

Russia is expected to face three friendlies prior to the World Cup — Slovakia (May 26), Norway (May 31), Morocco (June 6).

Here is Russia’s complete 30-man squad:

Goalkeepers (3): Igor Akinfeev (CSKA Moscow), Yuri Lodygin (Zenit St. Petersburg), Sergei Ryzhikov (Rubin Kazan)
