Vicente del Bosque announced his 30 man squad on Tuesday. With a roster full of superstars, their was always going to be a few players cut that would grace the roster of almost any other squad attending the World Cup. Most notably, Real Madrid star Isco has been left off the roster. His season might have started off slowly but he has been one of Real Madrid’s best players in the 2nd half of the season and I really have to question Del Bosque’s train of thought at leaving such a dynamic creative mind back at home.
Gabi is also another player that had a campaign good enough to be called up. The Atletico Madrid youth product and captain has helped Atletico to one of their most successful seasons in their history.
Other notables exclusions: Ander Hererrera, Inigio Martinez, Munian, Bartra, Adrian.
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), David de Gea (Manchester United)Pepe Reina (Napoli)
Defenders: Jordi Alba (Barcelona), Raul Albiol (Napoli), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Daniel Carvajal (Real Madrid), Juanfran (Atletico Madrid), Alberto Moreno (Sevilla), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)
Midfielders: Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal), Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Ander Iturraspe (Athletic Bilbao), Koke (Atletico Madrid), Javi Martinez (Bayern Munich), Juan Mata (Chelsea), Jesus Navas (Manchester City), Pedro (Barcelona), David Silva (Manchester City), Xavi (Barcelona)
